YOGA CLAS SCHEDULE
Monday
9:30-11:00 a.m. Hatha Yoga with Ned Grant (all level) Finding stillness in the mind (the definition of Yoga) through stillness and poise in the body. Experience expert guidance, both physical and psychological, while exploring in depth the subtle nuances of the classical yoga asanas.
5:45 pm – 7:15 p.m. Hatha Flow with Anne Hungerford (all level) A blend of pranayama (breathing) and asana (posture) culminating in a state of deep relaxation. The Monday night class is a great way to balance and collect yourself for the week ahead.
Tuesday
5:45 – 7:00 Tai Chi Qi Gong with Dee Calvey No previous experience necessary $12 (no class cards)
Wednesday
9:30-11:00 a.m. Iyengar Style with Nancy Opgaard (all level ) In this style asana is approached with curiosity and attention, creating an intentional awareness of the connection of mind, body and spirit. A strong emphasis on proper alignment. Generous amounts of time are spent examing individual asanas (postures) to develop a greater sense of awarness.
5:45-7:15 p.m. Vinyasa with Kristin Wilkins (all level) Vinyasa yoga brings the element of movement and grace into yoga posture sequences. This class is both fun and playful and at times challenging with several opportunitues to let go of the stresses, both physical and emotional, that keep us feeling rigid and bound.
Thursday
5:15-6:15 p.m. Gentle Yoga with Kristine A. Peterson This is a very soothing class. Slow and gentle flowing guided sequences will keep the body warm and the mind engaged.
6:30-7:45 p.m. Vinyasa Level II with Kristi Gunnarshaug (see level 2 description under General Guidelines)
Friday
9:30- 11:00 a.m. Hatha Flow with Anne Hungerford (all level) An upbeat moderately challenging class with an element of flowing through sequences but also times of focusing on alignment and developing the ability to stay attentive and calm while holding certain postures.
5:00 – 6:15 p.m. Happy Hour Yoga with Becca Conn (all level) at a happy price $10 (cash only, no class cards) Have Fun with an eclectic blend of yoga styles in a practice designed to energize your Body, relax your Mind and reduce stress, creating room for your Spirit to Soar.
Saturday
9:30-10:45 a.m. Hatha Flow with Anne Hungerford (all level) A great way to begin your weekend. Let go of the week, ease into your Saturday with gentle stretches, breathing exercises, sun salutations and a modertate flow of empowering asanas, winding down to deep relaxation.
4:00-5:15p.m. Vinyasa with Angelina Salama An energizing, rhythmic flow, often with more contemporary music, that stimulates mind and body. This class usually begins with breathwork, designed to calm and bring greater focus to the practice. The class will explore standing and seated asanas in a flowing sequence. Modifications will be offered in order to meet a student’s interest level and prior experience. Props are introduced as needed. Students will be invited to learn inversions as part of the practice. The class will end with a relaxation sequence designed to absorb the work achieved.
Sunday
10:30 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Gentle Yoga with Anne Hungerford (All level) A class, practiced at a slower pace, designed to give students the opportunity to be quiet and contemplative. It’s a time to cultivate inner peace and become nurturing towards oneself. Props are often used to facilitate deeper release in restorative postures.
4:00-5:30 p.m. Karma Yoga (every 1st Sunday of the month) with Kristi Gunnarshaug (all level) Avinyasa style class followed by a long relaxation session with hands on mini-massage to help say goodbye to the month and inspire for the next. All proceeds will benefit the Susan B. Anthony Project, Torrington, CT to help women and children heal from domestic violence and sexual abuse. By Donation.

General Guidelines for All Classes
Gentle: Great for beginners or those who desire a gentle paced class with standing postures, balancing poses, seated postures, and relaxation. Perfect for learning alignment of poses and breath work.
All Level: Medium paced yoga class with variations for different levels of student ability and experience. This class will dive more deeply into all asanas with a non-aggressive approach. Emphasis will be on developing a steady practice with continued emphasis on breath and alignment.
Level II:For those with yoga experience and an understanding of proper alignment in most of the classical yoga asanas. These classes are often a faster pace for those who want a bit more challenge. More advanced poses, including inversions and hand balancing can be incorporated as well as longer periods of seated stillness and meditation. Also more advanced types of pranayama are introduced. Emphasis is placed on curiosity, openness to change and an ability to stay focused and with the breath.
